LinkedIn is the largest professional networking site that connects you with colleagues, employees and friends to exchange ideas, information, recommendations and opportunities.
What are three thoughts that come to mind when you think about LinkedIn? Are they, boring? Plain?
Underused? Well, after discovering all the benefits of LinkedIn, we feel LinkedIn may be getting a bum wrap.
According to their own reports, LinkedIn is the largest professional networking site that connects you with colleagues, employees and friends to exchange ideas, information, recommendations and opportunities. With lots of opportunities to promote yourself and your business, LinkedIn is also a powerful networking site to expand sales opportunities.
Steadily increasing its audience, LinkedIn has over 120 million members on all seven continents. So, they must be doing something right. The real question is, what tools can YOU use on LinkedIn to benefit YOUR business?
Create a Company Profile
Doing so enhances credibility to your business for potential customers who are looking for more information. You have the ability to upload videos, information about your services/products, post status/content updates, as well as feed your twitter posts and/or blog posts right to your profile.
Join Groups
Thousands of groups are available to join on LinkedIn that are relevant to your profession, hobbies, interests, etc. Be a part of these groups and interact with discussions. Providing feedback and content allows others to view you as an expert in your field.
Be Aware of Viewers
Frequently view who is looking at your profile. LinkedIn allows you to view individuals/companies that are searching your information. Take that opportunity to research these individuals/companies and send a portfolio or information their way about your business.
Recommendations
Write honest and valuable recommendations to those you do business with. Recommendations build credibility, grow business relationships and show you are a valued employee and/or a trusted business to work with.
Post Jobs
Businesses can submit job postings to LinkedIn to find the perfect fit for the position. All followers and connections to the business will see the posting and have the ability to pass it on to someone that is qualified.
Take Advantage of the Search Bar
Take time to research and connect with local employees and businesses. This will help develop business relationships and potential new leads. You can do this by searching surrounding zip codes, cities, industries, etc.
The list could continue with other ways to take full advantage of LinkedIn for your business. Spending time to build relationships and connections will help build credibility and potentially customers.
