Fuzzy Duck is proud to announce Slingshot: Jupiter Conspiracy. This is the latest creative project to come out of our intellectual property development division, Fuzzy Duck Studios. The book is actually a 176-page illustrated screenplay containing over 200 stunning pieces of production art and features a foreword by Apollo 11 Astronaut, Buzz Aldrin.
The book and the Slingshot Universe were created and produced collaboratively by MorrisHaugen and Fuzzy Duck Studios. The services provided by Fuzzy Duck Studios included art direction, project management, story/character development, writing, digital and traditional illustration, 3D reference modeling, digital composition and effects as well as services provided by Fuzzy Duck Design such as web development, book design, layout and file prep.
The story takes place in the year 2100, where explorers head to Saturn aboard the Titan Alpha. Halfway there—to pick up speed—the spacecraft makes a critical slingshot maneuver around the immense gravity well of Jupiter.
Without warning, the ship is damaged in a mysterious explosion. The injured crew is stranded in a decaying orbit around the huge gas giant. Within two weeks, their trajectory will bring them on a collision course with the fiery, volcanic moon of Io.
The daring rescue attempt to save them will challenge an experimental vessel and its crew. Their journey will uncover a murderous conspiracy involving an international energy cartel; and, ultimately, reveal the most astonishing discovery of all time: life beyond Earth!
Although developed as an entertainment property with possibilities in television, feature film and beyond, the real science used throughout the story creates teachable moments for a variety of audiences. These learning opportunities have been recognized and acknowledged by our friends in the educational industry and curriculum is now being developed for pilot programs in two local schools.
